Rimba Trishuta Pathiussina and Salmin R. Abd. Barri, a student of the Faculty of Technobiology, University of Technology Sumbawa (FTB UTS) won the 2020 Sobat Bumi Competition organized by the Pertamina Foundation in the Science Theory Category. The Sobat Bumi competition was previously known as the Pertamina National Science Olympiad (OSN-PERTAMINA) and was first held in 2008. The science category competition is a University-level Science Olympiad competition in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
Rimba and Salmin became Provincial Champions in Biology for NTB Province as 2nd Place and 3rd Place. explore the power of thought/logic through solving scientific theories. Thus, Pertamina is expected to be able to produce a generation of innovative thinkers, so that they can become the backbone of the nation in providing innovative solutions to the problem of energy scarcity in Indonesia and also in the world.
Rimba shared his motivation for participating in this prestigious competition, “Initially I was interested in participating in this competition because I wanted to test my courage in competing and also gain experience. On the other hand, there was encouragement and support from the lecturers at FTB. Hopefully this can also be self-motivated to achieve achievements. Furthermore.”, unravel Rimba.
